Jake Munro (Casey Anderson) and William Price (Stu Brumbaugh), two friends from the big city, venture into the backcountry of Montana for a once-in-a-lifetime trip. However, they soon find themselves in one of the world's most rugged and hostile environments. When one of the young men becomes lost in the Big Sky mountain terrain without proper equipment or preparation, he must rely on his instincts and the help of a determined semi-retired forest ranger named Randy Barrett to save his life. With a severe winter storm approaching and the search called off, the lost hunter realizes his chances of survival are slim, especially when he discovers that a bloodthirsty grizzly bear named Brutus is tracking him. Despite sustaining life-threatening injuries, he will attempt the unthinkable to survive, even if it costs him his life. The vast forest system of the Iron Ridge mountain range and the area's history make his chances of survival appear slim. It will be a miracle if he makes it out alive
